Dear Henry, Love Edith

 Book by Becca Kinzer.

A fun, mistaken identity romance. There is some lying and cheating involved that I didn’t love. But in the end, I love how Henry gets the courage to be all in, and that Edith realizes marriage and family can be the greatest adventure.

 Memoir by Anthony Ray Hinton. This is a phenomenal book! I was appalled by the intentional miscarriage of justice perpetrated by the state of Alabama. And I was astounded that it took 30 years and an order from the Supreme Court to finally right this wrong. Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes

 Picture book by Eric Litwin. Fun to read story, with a great message about not sweating the small stuff and making lemonade out of life’s lemons. Another highly recommended book in this series is “Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons”. The message of that one: “Buttons come and buttons go, but do we cry? Goodness, no! We keep on singing.” There is also some basic subtraction thrown in.

Be Kind

 Picture book by Pat Zietlow Miller. This is a book about a little girl trying to figure out what it means to be kind. It feels a lot more natural than other books with similar themes.
