Remarkably Bright Creatures

 Book by Shelby Van Pelt.

Contemporary fiction is not normally my jam, but I really enjoyed this one! It’s the alternating stories of an elderly cleaning lady, an irresponsible young man, and an octopus, and how their lives intertwine. I know it sounds strange, but it works!

Note: there is some profanity from one of the characters and several mentions of sex, but overall, pretty tame for an adult novel these days.

Appropriate for all ages.

Tress of the Emerald Sea

 Book by Brandon Sanderson  This was an utterly charming fantasy/adventure that reminded me a lot of The Princess Bride. I plowed through the audiobook in just two days, listening every chance I could! My only complaint is that I wish it were slightly more standalone, rather than assuming the reader is already familiar with Hoid. However, even without that background knowledge, I believe the book would have widespread appeal. Recommended Age 13+
