Undefeated: Jim Thorpe and the Carlisle Indian School Football Team

Nonfiction book by Steve Sheinkin. Audiobook read by Mark Bramhall.

This was a fantastic audiobook! It tackles tough issues like racism against native Americans and the faulty reasoning behind Indian boarding schools, while also entertaining football fans with a fascinating history of the evolution of the sport. Inspiring and a great conversation starter.

Note: I would recommend for ages 12-adult. No objectionable material other than an occasional mention of someone getting drunk.

Picture book by Josh and Sarah Sabey. I was impressed with the writing in this word-heavy picture book. It tells three stories (the garden, the cross, and the tomb) and ties them together beautifully.  Recommended age 7- adult

They argue and think the opposing side is crazy. Then along comes a ginormous bear wearing bunny ears. He takes the egg, blows out the insides and scrambles them into an omelet, then paints the emptied shell, turning it into a win-win for everyone.

The author takes absurd questions and tries to find actual scientific answers to them, leading to some surprising and entertaining results. As an added bonus, the audiobook is read by Wil Wheaton. Fun for a family car trip.
