The Rabbit Listened
Picture book by Cori Doerrfeld.
When a little girl’s block tower gets knocked over, the animals have lots of ideas they think will help: talking, getting angry, remembering, laughing, hiding, throwing it all away, and destroying someone else’s. But what she really needs is someone to just be there, quiet and steady, as she comes to terms with it and eventually is ready to build again.
A sweet metaphor of how to help a friend when their whole world has crashed down around them. Just be there and listen.
